DPR’s Pilot Pickleball Program
DPR’s Pilot Pickleball Program
Thank you to everyone who attended Commissioner Justin Cutler’s presentation to the City Council’s Community Development/Human Services Committee meeting. Chairman Jason Dozier said he’s never seen such an enthusiastic crowd at a committee meeting.

Tim Ball, Eileen Poss, James Rawls, Coach Emory Clark and Drew Lupton spoke in support of pickleball, Commissioner Cutler and the Department of Parks and Recreation’s plans for Atlanta pickleball.
Commissioner Cutler presented DPR’s Pilot Program for bringing 14 dedicated and 33 shared pickleball courts to the City of Atlanta, with the first set of dedicated courts at Southside Park by end of summer. The committee also announced that the budget has been increased for park development. A copy of the Commissioner’s presentation can be seen at https://citycouncil.atlantaga.gov/…/638234655324170000

Our hard work has paid off but there’s more to be done.
SAVE THE DATE: July 12, 2023 and/or July 18, 2023. DPR will conduct two public meetings to inform the Atlanta community about the Pickleball Pilot Program. The first meeting will be in-person and the second will be virtual. I’ll share times and location soon. Our presence needs to be felt at both of these meetings!
We’ve also included a downloadable PDF of the Pilot Program presentation from Commissioner Cutler.
